Health Ministry Avoids Answering Acute and Topical Questions 04.04.2012
The Health Ministry of Armenia either has no information about the health of the people living in ecologically polluted territories, or this information is so poor that the Ministry conceals them. EcoLur has twice sent requests to the ministries in regard with the state of health of the people living in the territories (Lori and Syunik Regions) polluted with heavy and toxic metals.
The reply dated on 15 March 2012 signed by Suren Kimoyan, Head of Staff of Ministry says: 'Currently we are conducting statistics data about people morbidity and additional information will be presented in the upcoming week.' Like it was last time, there is no information and the doctors on the spots of environmental alarm signals don't answer to people's questions, while people have no idea medical checkups are conducted in their towns.
